Since I wasn't blogging at Christmas time I figured I would recap some of the more notable days and even include pictures! We did not do a lot of decorating this year because I had my hands full with Sean. Mark always insists on a fresh tree and it was mid-December before we got around to getting a tree ("we" as in Mark, Ira & Emma). I think they picked out a great tree. It then took another week before we got around to putting the ornaments on. Ira would ask everyday if it was time. I finally got a couple ornaments out for him and Emma to put on to satisfy them until daddy's day off. We also invited my in-laws over for the decorating because my mother-in-law is a pro at decorating a tree.
The day before was our church's Christmas breakfast. The kids had a great time. Ira was one of the wise men in the children's nativity reenactment. We were also treated to a great Christmas hula. The kids favorite part? Receiving bags filled with candy from "Santa's Elves".
This year Mark and the kids decorated a gingerbread house. This is the second year we decorated one (we cheat and buy the pre-made house kits; last year's house kit was a gift from a friend--thanks Cing!). I was taking care of Sean so I didn't get to really participate in the decorating (and after seeing the final results I don't know if I would have admitted I had helped even if I had! :p). Mark decided that next year we would buy GOOD candy to use on the house, but the kids seemed to enjoy stuffing themselves with the BAD tasting candy anyway.
I will continue with Christmas adventures in my next post!
